Overview
Compilations come and compilations go, but the format really changed for good in 1995 when the WOW franchise entered the marketplace. Featuring the most successful contemporary Christian singles of the year, these 2 CD sets and companion DVD's became instant hits. In 1998, the franchise branched out and WOW Gospel was launched.
Fast forward to 2007 and you have the most successful gospel compilation series of all time. To date, the RIAA has certified six volumes platinum and two are gold. WOW Gospel 2007 is the newest addition to this highly-anticipated series, and will no doubt feature the biggest gospel radio singles of 2006 (a finalized track listing is pending).
WOW Gospel will be celebrating its 10th anniversary with the 2007 edition so it is sure to be the most spectacular yet! Previous volumes have featured hits by Kirk Franklin, Yolanda Adams, CeCe and BeBe Winans, Shirley Caesar, Fred Hammond, Donnie McClurkin, Sounds of Blackness, Aaron Neville, Mary Mary, Smokie Norful, Kim Burrell, Vickie Winans, and so many more. The 2007 edition will be no exception, with the same intensity of music on this 2 CD set.
WOW Gospel 2007 will feature the best of 2006, with hits from Donald Lawrence & Tri-City Singers, Smokie Norful, Kiki Sheard, Kelly Price, Kurt Carr, J. Moss, Byron Cage, Donnie McClurkin, Vickie Winans, Hezekiah Walker, Fred Hammond, Deitrick Haddon, Tye Tribbett, Martha Munizzi, Mary Mary, Sounds of Blackness, and more! As if that isn't enough, also included is the track from the new artist V3 "Love Will Make The World Beautiful", and from the Gospel Dream Show finalist (featuring Brian Smith), "Power Of A Dream".
As always, a companion DVD will be simultaneously released!
