This book opened my eyes to a lot of the problems facing the average American today. Chuck Norris did his research well and presented a valid argument and solution to the issues of today's society. I thought the solutions presented by Norris were very reasonable and his argument about today's youth and education was very intriguing.
My gripes with this book are the frequent endorsements for 2008 presidential candidate Mike Huckabee and for Norris' previous work, "Against All Odds." This book almost has a preachy attitude which gets more and more annoying as you read on. I was not looking for entertainment by any means when I picked up this book, but I was expecting a little... well... more.
If you can look past the preachy attitude and the sales pitch for Huckabee and his previous book, this is a great read, however those two drawbacks were enough for me to rate this book 3 stars.

| Chuck Norris did a great job with his book (Black Belt Patriotism)Black Belt Patriotism: How to Reawaken America in describing how great America is, thanks to our founding fathers who had a strong belief in Deity. I have a deep love for the United States of America, so intense that my eyes still tear up everytime I hear or sing the National Anthem. I was born in 1938 and never knew my birth father, but learned early in life to pull myself up by my bootstraps. After high school I joined the Navy, which was the best decision I ever made.Friends I met in the Navy are still very loyal friends fifty two years later.Thanks to the GI bill I graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology with AAS and Bs degrees, and worked for thirty five plus years as a successful engineer and manager. Only in America can this happen! I, like Chuck Norris, have a firm belief in God, and and attribute this to the primary reason for the success of the American system. My heart beats wildly when I think of how our new governing politicians are violating the very Constitution that our forefathers worked so diligently to formulate. If every American would read this book, I am sure they would all pull together to defend the Constitution Of the United States of America and do all in thier power to ensure its longivity. To put it simply, this book saved my life. My brother gave it to me as a gift for my birthday and as soon as I opened the front cover, I felt different. It's hard to explain, but I felt stronger, and sharper. My reflexes could only be described as "ninja-like" and although I do practice the ancient art of Karate, I was immediately elevated to the level of BLACKBELT.
The only downfall is that after keeping this book in my posession at all times for about a month, I started to develop a little more facial hair than what I would call normal. It was a little disturbing at first, but now when I look at my self in the mirror without my glasses on, I like to pretend that my reflection is actually Chuck Norris. Right there, staring deep into my eyes in my very own bedroom.

| Chuck, as in martial arts, hits hard in this book. From the first page, to the last, this book is perfect. It tells you how America is failing, and what we can do to make America great again. His ideas, his principles, they should be followed and applied by every American Loving America. If we all were to follow these simple ideas, and make our government follow these ideas, we would be in such a better place. A government by the people, for the people. If the Government actually only did the things allowed in the Constitution, what a multi-trillion dollar savings it would be, Americans would be better off, and have a lot smaller government. A legend in his own time! Mr. Norris implores us to return to our American values!
These values are not uniquely American, they are common to the entire Western culture! Here, Norris focuses on our own national decline, and its dire aftermath. It can only get worse, if we don't act NOW!
If you are a patriot, you have very likely read a number of books that are very similar. But it doesn't hurt to be reminded frequently, that our nation was meant to stand for a more noble philosophy. We have lost our way.
In my life-time, I never thought I would see such a blatant and legitimate demise of morality, honor, family-values, respect for our national-soveriegnty, and government accountability. The government of the American people is a PUBLIC SERVANT of the people! Why have we forgotten the basic fact that the government is supposed to listen to us, and do as we say? I never thought I would see such virulent political polarization. We are witnessing a political division so profound and irreconcilable, that even comparing it to the pre-bellum 1850s would not be adequate. Will we see 1861 all over again? I can't believe how many people really believe it is inevitable!
America, and the Western world in general, have been intentionally decieved into this present state of cultural disintegration. I am ashamed that so many of us have so willingly allowed the "politically correct" agenda to dismantle our sacred institutions and rights without so much as one syllable of protest. This book features Chuck Norris's commentary on the pertainent matters, and the solutions. In fact, unique to most of the books on the topic, Norris has included a chapter on physical-conditioning, to prepare you for "the troubles to come".
